Skillet Shrimp and Garlic – This simple, yet scrumptiosus, skillet fried shrimp recipe creates an explosion of flavor! All cooked stovetop, these slightly spiced shrimp, are so full of succulent seafood flavor on their own, we chose to serve them with plain rice, so the flavor really stands out.

Prep Time: 10-15 mins
Cook Time: 35-45 mins
Servings: 6-8
Main Ingredient: Shrimp
Difficulty Level: 1

Ingredients to make Skillet Shrimp and Garlic

1 bag (3 1/2-ounce size) boil-in-bag brown rice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
32 peeled and deveined large shrimp
1 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
3 cloves garlic, sliced
1 bay leaf
1/2 cup dry white wine
4 slices lemon (1/4-inch-thick)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon butter
lemon wedges (optional)

Directions to make Skillet Shrimp and Garlic

Step 1:Cook rice according to package directions, omitting salt and fat. Sprinkle salt and black pepper evenly over shrimp. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp, red pepper, garlic, and bay leaf to pan; cook 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
Step 2:Add wine and lemon to pan. Increase heat to medium-high, and bring to a simmer; cook until liquid is reduced to 1/2 cup (about 3 minutes). Remove from heat. Discard bay leaf and lemon. Add parsley and butter, stirring until butter melts.
Step 3:Serve shrimp and sauce over rice. Serve with lemon wedges, if desired.
